This is a new website to replace the Sydenham.Info slated to close by November 17th. It is being rebuilt from the ground up although in will incorporate content from the old site.
We have been building Sydenham websites for over twenty five years. First as something to fill the free hosting space from our ISP of the time Freeserve in the 1990s. This evolved into Sydenham Town with its own domain sydenham.org.uk in 2000. The amount of feedback and comments led to launching the award winning Sydenham Town Forum.
Both flourished alongside each other as, before the social media behemoths, it was the way to find out and communicate what was happening in SE26. The forum became very busy and was handed over to an independent team in 2016. The original Sydenham Town that shared the domain was moved to a new website sydenham.info. This shared similar branding to the new team’s revamped Sydenham Town Forum.
The rise of Social Media dissipated news and debate into multiple channels and the glory days had passed in the aftermath of Covid in 2020. Nevertheless we want to keep Sydenham’s flag flying alongside other local websites [see Resources].
